What Is Neighbourhood Watch?

Neighbourhood Watch started as a program of neighbours watching out for their neighbours' property when they were away from their homes.  A police officer on patrol may not recognize a stranger in your backyard - but you would!

What does the Program Offer Me?

The Neighbourhood Watch Program in Guelph is a proactive program to stop property crimes in residential neighbourhoods in the city.  We use a variety of methods to organize residents in groups of homes we call "watches" to work together to reduce the risk of crime. 

To do this we provide FREE training sessions at the Guelph Police Service Head Office location which discuss:

• cost effective ways to protect your home and property
• personal protection
• how to recognize and report suspicious activities, persons and events
• facilitate communication with neighbours and the Guelph Police Service
• introduce and encourage participation in other crime prevention programs such as Operation Identification & Combat Auto Theft
